A remake for old anime will bring back nostalgia feeling to us. A remake doesn't mean it would be better than the original, but it is luxurious experience for us seeing our favorite old anime getting a remake.
We already seen a plenty of good anime remakes which is better than the original ones, such as Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Berserk, and Hunter X Hunter.
Anime remake did not happen so often, and only few anime remakes we can see every year. However, it's not that hard to notice if it your favorite anime that getting remake. We actually have some of anime remakes and reboots coming in 2023 and 2024, and here it is.

1. Rurouni Kenshin (2023)
Rurouni Kenshin is back in 24 years after the end of the first series. New anime will re-adapt the main manga series. The story set ten years after the Meiji Era, a wandering samurai, Himura Kenshin who has a dark past dedicated his life to protecting the weak to escape his fate as the greatest killer of the Edo dynasty.
Once known as Hitokiri Battousai, he was feared as the most ruthless killer of all the revolutionaries. As now he tries to build a peaceful life, he befriends with his new friends Kaoru, Sanosuke and Yahiko.
There is a threat for the new Meiji Era, comes from the successor of Hitokiri Battousai who was supposed to die in the Boshin Wars. He and his Juppon Gatana are ready to start a new revolution.

2. Urusei Yatsura
Exactly 41 years after the first episode of first series debut, at the same date this year, Urusei Yatsura anime will return with the new anime adaptation.
The series follow Ataru Moroboshi, a young boy who has chosen to duel with Oni's race as human's representative. His opponent is a very pretty Oni princess named Lum. Ataru somehow managed to win the duel by stealing Lum's bikini top.
Ataru celebrating his victory and expresses his joy as he is promised by her girlfriend to marrying him if he could win. However, Lum misinterprets it as a proposal from Ataru and accepts on live television. Despite the misunderstanding, Lum already falls in love with Ataru and moves into his house.

3. Tokyo Mew Mew New
New anime for Tokyo Mew Mew Mew after two decades. The first season was released 6 july this year and the second season will air in April 2023.
The anime centers on five young girls with the DNA of endangered creatures which given them special power to fight chimera anime, a monster that transformed into monster by alien parasites.
The main character, Momomiya Ichigo is dating with Aoyama Masaya, a boy she liked. She is fight against monsters while keeping secret her identity and improving relationship with Masaya.

4. Shaman King
The new anime for Shaman King that released last year. The sequel for the remake is already confirmed but there is further information about the release date.
Shaman King follow Yoh, a young shaman who has hidden power. He is carrying heavy duty which he must become the Shaman King by winning the Shaman Fight tournament. The fate off all mankinds rests in his hands and Anna Kyouyama, Amidamaru and his other companions to face Hao, an evil powerful man who aims to create a new world with only shaman by becoming the Shaman King himself. The sequel will be centered on Yoh and Anna's son Hana.

5. TRIGUN STAMPEDE
A remake for 1998 Trigun anime by Studio Orange. Trigun centers on Vash the Stampede, a gunman with a $$60 billion bounty after accidentally destroying a city with his supernatural powers.
The incident makes him difficult to stay for long in one place due to bounty hunter always chasing him. The series will set out on his journey by travelling on planets with Meryl and Milly, two insurance agents who is assigned to avoid more damages caused by Vash.

6. Akuma-kun
Need more than 33 years to Akuma-kun anime series getting new anime adaptation. The first series released on 15 April 1989 to 24 March 1990 with 42 episodes. Akuma-kun new anime is part of the big project to commemorating Shigeru Mizuki's birth 100-year anniversary.
The series centers on Akuma-kun, a nickname refer to a child prodigy who appears every 10.000 years. His objection is to make a world where all humans can live happily, by using the power of demon.

7. Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf
Spice and Wolf getting a reboot after only 15 years since the first release in 2008. The first anime consists of two seasons with total of 24 episodes with two OVAs. Studio Imagin works for the first season while Brain's Base works for the series' second season.
The series centers on a traveling merchant named Lawrence and a beautiful girl with wolf ears and tail named Holo. As a traveling merchant, Lawrence wandering alone from the town to town with his horse and cart, until one night, he finds Holo on his cart. Holo who has a wish to return to her homeland get an offer from Lawrence to take her along, and thus begin their journey together.

8. The One Piece
One Piece is not end yet, but Netflix decided to remake it with Wit Studio producing the anime. The title for the remake will be The One Piece as Netflix announced at The Jump Festa '24 and it will start from the East Blue saga. There is no confirmation about whether the remake would cover all the arc, even though there is a hint about it. One thing to remember, this remake is for commemorating anime 25th anniversary.
